This video was taken using a “Girth cam”, strapped to the horse’s underside. Many horse owners worry that their horse will not be able to move naturally or very fast while wearing boots, but here we see that a horse can at least canter while wearing EasyCare hoof boots (and this animal maintains a very even pace, too!)

Carl is conscientious in his trims, careful and innovative as well. He is always seeking more knowledge regarding shoeing and trimming and is simply the best "barefoot" person around.
— Robin NorwoodCarl Stephens has been our horse's only farrier since she was less than a year old, maintaining a barefoot trim that has kept her feet healthy and solid during her development. She's almost four now and we're confident that Carl's regularly-scheduled care has been a big factor in her solid growth and overall great foundation.
— Jeff Foster & Ellen JohnsonYou could not find a better person to care for your horses. Carl Stephens is always learning a new technique or reading some article. He sincerely cares about the animal not just the job. He is honest and dependable. You can count on him to go that extra mile.
— Priscilla GranadeAs a teacher at the Oregon School of Natural Hoof Care, I found Carl to be an exceptional student in his farrier skills as well as a caring and compassionate person. Carl has a natural desire to look for new information and he continues his education in hoof care as new methods and techniques emerge in the Farrier industry.
— Dave Fitton, http://hoofschool.com/Carl is the most knowledgeable and experienced person I know that deals with horses on an everyday basis who is not only professional with his human clients; but he also has a way with the horses themselves. When he says he is going to be there, he is there. You can count on him to show up when he says he will.
— Priscilla GranadeMy 8-year-old tobino paint mare, Norma, came from the most abusive conditions, and has understandable trust issues. Carl has taken the time to familiarize himself with her fears, and adjusts his trimming to her special needs. There are very few people Norma will allow to handle her. Carl is one of them.
— Stacy Tanner, http://www.hollywoodhorses.orgCarl shows up on time and on schedule, and has demonstrated a solid understanding of horsemanship, and equine communication. I am a professional, natural horse trainer, and can say without a doubt that Carl handles every horse with which he is entrusted with calm patience and savvy.
— Stacy Tanner, http://www.hollywoodhorses.orgWhat IS a “farrier”?
A farrier is a specialist in equine hoof care, including the trimming and balancing of horses' hooves and the placing of shoes on their hooves. A farrier combines some blacksmith's skills (fabricating, adapting, and adjusting metal shoes) with some veterinarian's skills (knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the lower limb) to care for horses' feet.
